Frequently Asked Questions

We understand starting the process for the very first time can seem challenging and confusing.  Below we’ve answered the most commonly asked questions to give you the clarity and confidence you need to embark on a life changing journey with us.

u

How long is the intake process?

Our client services department will walk you through the process. The initial screening is over the phone and takes about 30 minutes after insurance verification and collection of the initial screening questions. You would be assigned an in-person assessment with a licensed mental health professional, and they would determine your eligibility for services. The entire process from beginning to your first session in services takes about 3-5 business days, depending on insurance processing times. Emergency and Crisis services start on the same day services are requested.

u

What's the usual length of services?

Depending on the service type and severity of your mental health condition determines your length of treatment. Specifics can be discussed once your needs are communicated with us.

u

Are these services for children and adults?

Here at BHSVA, we offer an array of mental health services that cover children, adolescents, adults from the age of 18-month to 64-years of age.
u

Where are the services rendered?

Our service provider will come to you. Being a community-based provider means our services are rendered in your natural environment meaning your home, school, or community.

u

How much does it cost?

Majority of your services will be covered by your insurance company; however, you will be responsible for any co-pay and/or deductibles.

u

Is there a waitlist?

We currently do not have a waitlist, but this is subject to change and it can take time to coordinate the right schedule, so get started today! Your official start date of services is determined depending on caseload availability.
