Our days are packed with work, kids and household tasks, so we often neglect the thing that’s most important to us: self-care.
Why is it the most important thing? Because if you take care of yourself, you will be a better you, and a better you will be better at work, with your family and all the household tasks you need to do.
You will be a happier version of you. Self-care is vital, even if it’s for 30 minutes a day.
Here are some self-care skills tips for you to squeeze into your busy lifestyle:
- Live healthy – This is vital. Simply eat healthy foods, get enough sleep and exercise. Even if it’s just a walk around the block.
- Practice good hygiene – When you look good, you feel good, and when you smell good, you feel even better. Wash your hands and hower/bath at least once a day. This will keep you clean and will decrease your chances of falling sick.
- Make time for your friends – It’s only when we’re with our friends that we realize “Wow, I really needed this.” Make time for your friendships during the week. You could start a “book club” or simply meet up for a coffee or lunch.
- Try to do something you enjoy every day – Whether it be reading, yoga, watching Netflix or drawing, set aside some time to do something for yourself.
- Find ways to relax – Meditation, yoga, getting a massage, taking a bath or walking in the woods area great way to relax after a long day and will help you to reduce stress.
Self-care is so important. It will help you be the best version of yourself, which you’ll be happier, and it also means your family and co-workers will experience you at your best.
Take care of yourself first, and the rest will follow.
